Sylvie

We read a book called "Sylvie" yesterday and did an art project to go with it.  I got the idea from this site.

The book is about a flamingo who finds out that her color comes from the food she eats, so she tries different foods.  Cute story and we enjoyed making our OWN Sylvies.

Kiwano

Tabbi found this fruit in a grocery store we visited with my mother on Sunday.  It's called a Kiwano.   or Horned Melon.  She wanted to try it so we brought it home and cut it open. It has a taste kind of like cucumber, but very gelatinous. The seeds are like a cucumber, but each one is encased in a green gelatin-like, wet sack.  It's not sweet, but not really sour either.  Very different type of melon.
